Biological dentistry is to be understood as an extension of conventional dentistry. She looks at the patient holistically and focuses on naturopathic aspects. In addition to oral health, biological dentistry also focuses on the patient's general health and immune system. Interference fields such as harmful fillers and metals are removed and replaced with biological substances.
The Dental IQ Biohealth concept is an all-encompassing treatment concept, geared to the individual needs of the patient. It aims to ensure the long-term and holistic health of the patient.
The numerous, impressive experiences of our patients also speak in favor of treatment according to the Dental IQ Biohealth concept.
Through the holistic approach, interference fields are often better recognized and treated from the source.
Chronic diseases such as allergies, headaches or back pain are often not associated with teeth, but can be their starting point. Biological dentistry, with its holistic approach, recognizes the sources of the interference fields and not only treats secondary diseases.

This must be decided individually.
Depending on the extent of the procedure and your physical condition, an attendant is highly recommended.
Basically, you will not feel bad after the operation.
Our surgical methods usually mean that you will not normally have any externally visible swelling or severe pain, even after major surgery.
“INSTEAD HOME”: If you would like someone to accompany you, we will be happy to organize 24-hour care for you (450 euros/day). Please speak to our reception about this.
No. The anesthesia may affect your ability to drive for several hours after the procedure. Therefore, please always bring someone with you to drive you. You should rest completely one day before and at least four days after the procedure and avoid any stress and exertion. We therefore recommend a hotel stay of several days.
We are a private practice in Northern Germany. We would be happy to send you your individual cost estimate. You can submit this to your insurance company in person to find out how much it will cover.
Please understand that apart from the X-rays and a short OP report, we cannot communicate with your insurance company any further. Our entire attention is focused on the treatment of our patients. Under no circumstances can we answer an extensive catalog of questions from your insurance company.
How long do I have to prepare before the operation?
You must take the BOOST from four weeks before the operation in order to optimally prepare your immune system for the operation. You can obtain this as a ready-to-use mixture from the private practice Dental-IQ-Biohealth or the SWISS BIOHEALTH CLINIC or have it prescribed by any doctor as a single medication. See the patient information booklet for information.
There you will also find information on how to behave in terms of diet and lifestyle two weeks before the operation.
The MY BIOHEALTH WEEK starts one day before the operation so that all necessary pre-treatments can be carried out stress-free.
Do I have to get medication in advance, especially for the time after the operation?
No. In principle, you will receive all medication from us in the practice. In the event that you need anything later, we will sign the prescription for post-treatment medication for you in the booklet, so that you can access these medications anytime and anywhere.
How long does the stay in the Dental IQ Biohealth practice last?
In the case of surgery, five to seven days. You should schedule five to 14 days in the practice for subsequent prosthetic treatment (dentures with crowns and bridges).
What type of local anesthesia will I receive?
We do not perform nerve block anaesthesia, as this can lead to reduced blood flow to the jawbone in the lower jaw and promote the development of ischemic osteonecrosis (NICO).
You will receive local infiltration anesthesia with the anesthetic Ultracain Forte (active ingredient: articaine). In almost 20 years of practice, Dr. Knüppel with it always a sufficient depth of anesthesia. In not a single case did undesirable side effects occur.
What infusions do I get?
We will give you the following infusions tailored to your postoperative condition:
What is an immediate implant?
An immediate implant is when you extract a diseased tooth and replace it with an implant in the same session at that location.
Will I get a crown directly on my implant?
In the aesthetic area, you will receive a provisional, tooth-colored crown (long-term provisional). Depending on the implant position and the surgical situation, this can vary individually.
Is it possible to remove several or all amalgam fillings at once?
Yes. Dental IQ's Amalgam Removal Protocol (AMX) makes this possible.
According to the protocol we have developed, we remove all amalgam fillings under multiple protection. The immune system can be relieved in this way.
The ongoing discussions about how many fillings can be removed at once are pointing in the wrong direction.
If the protection is perfect, you can remove all amalgam fillings at once. If the protection is not sufficient, no amalgam filling should be removed.
Can I get or send in a sample of my NICO?
Yes, if you wish we can give you some material from your NICO and soak it in a saline or alcohol solution.
In Europe, however, we are unable to have the DNA CONNEXIONS sample tested for pathogens such as Borrelia, Babesia, Bartonellia, etc. The US lab requires a frozen sample. The distance and the transport routes do not allow this.
How can it be that, according to the analysis / diagnosis, I should have a NICO/FDOK in the wisdom tooth area, even though I never had a wisdom tooth there?
Even if you never had a wisdom tooth there, a tooth germ existed there. Due to a weakness on this meridian, it did not have the power to develop into a wisdom tooth. This germ then "rotted away" over the years and created an ideal breeding ground for a FDOK. Often these patients even have particularly large NICO's in these regions
Why was I advised to have my wisdom teeth removed even though they are in the correct position?
The wisdom teeth are never used because the chewing center is just behind the canines.
These teeth usually have particularly strong interference contacts because they are close to the jaw joint.
Extraction eliminates these interferences. New and good bone can develop behind the roots of the 7s (second molars). Above all, good gums (the so-called ATTACHED GINGIVA) will grow around the 7s.
Apart from that, it is only possible to remove the NICO/FDOK, which almost always reaches into the 9 region, after the wisdom tooth has been removed.
What material are ceramic implants made of?
The implants are made of the high-performance ceramic zirconium dioxide (ZrO2).
They are 100% metal-free and biocompatible, have no free electrons and therefore no binding sites. The melting point is 2,400 °C.
The material is harder and more stable than steel.
Which bone substitute material is used for sinus lift treatment?
The sinus lift treatment (construction of bones in the maxillary sinus) is carried out exclusively with the patient's own (autologous) materials. The one from Dr. The so-called "SINUS IMPLANTS" developed and patented by Volz make it possible to use exclusively PRF membranes from the patient's blood as bone replacement material, as well as bone chips for construction. These are won with the SAFESCRAPER.
Questions about behavior after the operation
How are the follow-up treatments and the first postoperative days going?
For the days after the operation, you will be equipped with the Hilotherm cooling mask. This avoids any swelling. For the first postoperative day, we recommend organic bone broth and vegetable soup, as well as purified and oxygenated German water. With the VIVO BASE Home rental device you can eliminate all electromagnetic fields in your hotel.
On the first postoperative day, we recommend an osteopathic, manual therapeutic treatment to eliminate possible tension.
In addition, they receive various infusions to improve the healing process, such as antibiotic, cortisone, vitamin and mitochondrial infusions.
Day after day, our medical team decides together with you which further therapies make sense for you.
You will receive more detailed information on the postoperative follow-up treatment with your patient information booklet.
Why do I feel so good on the first day after the operation and maybe worse the following two days?
The operation relieves the body of stress, which means that the first day afterwards feels good. The following days are often perceived somewhat worse by the patient because of the energy required for the healing process. In addition, the body begins to detoxify. The more disciplined you are and stick to our protocol, the better off you will be.
Do I have to stay in the hotel/ apartment after the operation or can I go for a walk? What is my rest period like?
In the first three days you must not go for a walk or exert yourself physically.
Avoid reading or watching the news.
Insert a DIGITAL SABBATH and do without mobile devices and the use of wireless networks.
Listen to music, read or meditate, and try to talk as little as possible. Is my rest period lacking?
What do I have to consider when sleeping?
It is certainly most comfortable to sleep on your back, so there is no side pressure on your face. Please add a second pillow so that your head is higher than your heart and optimal lymph drainage is possible.
Can I use mouthwash after the procedure?
We recommend using only water or HOCl spray as a rinse for the first two weeks after your surgery.
We recommend in the first two weeks How may I carry out oral hygiene postoperatively?
We recommend only rinsing the wound areas (e.g. with HOCl) in the first two weeks after the operation. You can clean the other areas as usual with a soft toothbrush. From two weeks postoperatively, you can also carefully clean the wound areas with a soft brush. Please avoid using an electric or ultrasonic toothbrush on freshly placed implants.
What happens to the sutures used to close the wounds?
Only absorbable sutures are used, which dissolve by themselves after about six weeks. It is not necessary to pull the threads.
How long should I cool with the Hilotherm cooling mask?
Wear the mask continuously for the first three to four hours after the operation. The next day you can continue cooling during your infusion.
We see the best results in patients who wear the cooling mask continuously for 48 to 72 hours.
I have had a long-term temporary restoration/crown fitted. When can I eat again?
You may eat again once the anesthetic has completely worn off. However, please refrain from eating hard food. The cement needs 24 hours to harden completely.
Long-term temporaries that were placed on immediate implants must not be loaded for at least 6 weeks. Otherwise you endanger the healing of the implants and could lose them.
What are long-term temporaries and after how long do they have to be replaced?
In practice, long-term temporaries are crowns made on the same day from monolithic resin free of residual monomers, which are firmly cemented, are stable and already look very real. These remain in the mouth while the implants are healing and are exchanged for the final all-ceramic crowns after 3 to 24 months.
When did the implants heal?
Implants have a healing process that takes at least three to six months. You will be informed individually after your operation.
When can / may I do sports or visit the sauna again?
If there are no symptoms, it is possible to start exercising again two weeks after the surgical procedure. You may visit the sauna again after 14 days at the earliest.
What do I do if complications arise?
Due to the special and all-encompassing treatment method in the Dental IQ practice, there are almost no complications.
In general, complications occur, if at all, on the second or third postoperative day, so that we can still treat them in our practice - another reason for the MY BIOHEALTH WEEK.
What should I do if pain suddenly occurs?
Take a pain reliever (Ibuprofen 400mg, 1-2 tablets every six to eight hours, max. 6 in 24 hours).
If the pain does not decrease within a few hours, please contact our reception: +494417770007
Outside office hours email to:
info@dental-iq.de
What should I do if there is sudden, heavy bleeding?
Take a freshly washed cotton cloth (not a paper handkerchief or a cotton pad) and press it onto the wound for 20 minutes in the manner of a pressure bandage. If the bleeding does not stop, please contact our reception or the emergency dentist (see above).
Slightly bloody saliva is not a complication and does not require treatment. Please avoid any flushing as it will provoke bleeding again.
Is a follow-up examination necessary?
During your stay you are under constant care. Our team will initiate medical or dental follow-up examinations if required.
When can I travel home again?
Basically, you should spend at least three full days after the operation as an outpatient in the Dental IQ Apartments. After bone augmentation in the area of the maxillary sinus (external sinus lift), you should not fly within the first two weeks. In general, you should avoid sport, intensive sun exposure and the sauna for two weeks after each procedure.
When will I notice an improvement in my symptoms?
Often during or after the operation. However, each body reacts differently. Depending on the severity of your condition, it may take several weeks or months before you see an improvement. This is not uncommon and should not worry you. However, consistent compliance with our protocols is essential. Even after three months, you can still feel a slight tingling or pulling sensation in the surgical region. Support your body with nutrients and rest.
After the operation / What's next?
It goes without saying that it makes a lot of sense to continue to strengthen the immune system after the procedure and to support healing.
Your biological therapist who referred you to us has the follow-up protocols and can resume your care.
We gently remove all metals and disturbing foreign bodies in the oral cavity and replace them with neutral materials. After that, our protocols will show you the best possible healing.
Prosthetic phase
When will I receive my definitive final crowns?
After 3 to 6 months.
The long-term provisionals are removed by us and the teeth or implants are prepared again. With the so-called “fine tuning”, the future crown edge is placed precisely at gum level or slightly below it. The digital impression is then taken for dental technology.
The crown and/or bridges are produced immediately and fitted on the same day.
Can I go home or go on vacation after the cementing appointment?
Of course. After the cementing appointment, you are immediately 100% operational. You can go back to work or go on vacation. This is not a surgical procedure.
Can my family dentist also fabricate and integrate the permanent crowns?
Basically yes.
However, we only recommend this in individual cases.
As soon as another dentist starts making the final crowns on healed implants, he recognizes the perfect osseointegration of the implants. Otherwise he would not be allowed to make crowns on the implants.
The dentist thus assumes full responsibility for the functioning of the implant + crown unit.
The imprecise manufacture of crowns can destroy or loosen implants that have healed well. Responsibility for failure is clearly regulated (see above).
In order to prevent such problems, we recommend having the final crowns also made in the Dental IQ Biohealth practice.
If you still want to have the final crowns made by another dentist, they should at least have completed training in accordance with the SWISS BIOHEALTH CONCEPT.
Maintenance phase?
What can be the reason if I feel worse again after a few weeks or months?
Root-treated teeth, metals in the oral cavity or NICO's were stress for your immune system for years or even decades. Her sympathetic-heavy immune system was in "hibernation." They were a perfect host for all kinds of microorganisms like viruses, fungi, bacteria etc.
With the oral cleansing in our clinic, your immune system is now starting to work again. It becomes aware of the microorganisms that have been able to multiply undisturbed in your body for years.
Your reduced well-being after some time may have its reasons here. Good care from the doctor treating you after your procedure can prevent this.
Your situation can be compared to an enormously stressed student preparing for an exam. He only becomes ill after his exams, when the relaxation phase of the parasympathetic nervous system and thus the immune system are switched on again. Because now the immune system takes care of the infections that have accumulated during the exam preparation.
What do I have to do to maintain my improved condition?
Please follow the recommendations of the post-treatment protocol and check your 25-OH vitamin D3 and LDL levels every 2 to 3 months. The vitamin D3 value must never drop below 70 ng/l and the LDL value should not exceed 1.0 (max. 1.4) g/l. If this is the case, you must immediately increase your daily D3 dose and lower the LDL value by following the nutritional protocol.
